Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)
Here, at Dunamis Aesthetics, we are proud to offer skin rejuvenation treatments. We use a highly developed intense pulsed light device.
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) also referred to as “Photo Facial” is a skin rejuvenation treatment that can be administered to any part of the body, most commonly the face, neck, chest and hands. It uses specific wavelengths to target pigment in the skin. It works by reducing or eliminating signs of aging in the form of vascular and pigmented lesions, leaving the skin more even toned and textured with a more youthful, radiant appearance. IPL can also stimulate collagen growth to give the skin a plumper appearance.
IPL is a quick, safe and non-invasive treatment. The IPL treatment requires no significant downtime. Typically, there is very minimal swelling and/or redness initially following the treatment. Your skin can feel and look warm, much like a mild sunburn which usually subsides within a few hours. When treating brown lesions, the lesions may get darker before they get lighter. A crust-like scab can form but will eventually slough off, taking excess pigment with it. You can return to normal activities and even apply makeup immediately following the treatment. IPL can be performed every 3 weeks.
IPL is used to treat a number of skin conditions, most commonly:
• sun damage
• benign age spots/liver spots
• broken capillaries/flushing
• acne scars
• enlarged pores
• general tone and texture
• fine lines and wrinkles
Lighter skin types with pigmented lesions respond best to IPL treatments. Anyone seeking overall refinement and even tone and texture can benefit from IPL. Women who are pregnant and/or nursing cannot be treated.
If you desire a more youthful, even-toned complexion, IPL treatments are the way to go!
